This might not be entirely cliched but something I’ve noticed with some DP OCs is that the father is always never around at some point of the OC’s life, for various reasons, and the mom is always the one raising the kids, not even for joint custody if it’s because of divorce. I’ll admit I’m actually guilty of this too but I didn’t notice it until after I had made my character. I’m pretty sure it’s possible to have a complete, Nuclear family without being a Sue at all.
I’m glad to see all of you are enjoying this blog and it’s been amazingly well handled by the other mods here in my absence. We’ve gained a new mod I believe, mod S! Welcome!
I’m happy to say I’ve left this group in good hands. I will be returning to do my job of looking trough submissions and possibly submit a few myself. I hope you continue to run this blog with amazing critiques and intel.
Most of all I’d like to show my appreciation to mods K and N. they’ve been supervising all these submissions by themselves and I am just astounded by their vigilance. Everyone give a hand to mods K and N! And hey, mods K and N if you want a drawing as a reward for your hard work, send me a note and I’ll get cracking on it. As a gift to you :)
Well I’m glad to see things are handled here. Expect to see me back very soon!
A prime example of what not to do.
saisai-chan asked: It's also likely for any DxS spawn to have red hair or black hair. Pamela has red hair, and so do Jazz, Maddie, and Maddie's sister. Danny, Jack, Sam and Grandma Manson all have black hair, too. The only other hair color is Jeremy's blond hair, which, considering only one party has blond genes, is very unlikely. It's far more likely for any DxS spawn to have red (because, while red is recessive, both parties have the gene) or black hair. and very, very, very unlikely for one to have blond hair.
myvocaloidheart-deactivated2013 asked: When I go and look around on dA for halfas only, I felt like there are more female halfas than males. Why are there are more female halfas than male?
Most of the Danny Phantom fanbase is female. Females usually find it easier to make female ocs while males find it easier to make male ocs, I guess? Although, I’m physically a girl and making male characters comes easier to me. I’m not sure, actually.
This one comes with a story because I love you guys. Anyway years ago I started role playing with this girl who seemed really nice. When we wrote out our characters I ended up with a short and kind of chubby joker Peruvian/African American girl and a jerky white preppy guy from South Africa. She made two twins who were Danny’s older sisters named, and I’m serious here, Danna and Dannee. They looked him with long black hair and huge boobs. When I asked her why she did that she said “Well his sisters have to look like him duh! They’re his sisters!” then I mentioned Jazz and she said verbatim “Oh well Jazz is adopted because she looks nothing like Danny and she doesn’t act like him duuuhhh plus his sisters should be hot lol Jazz is ugly.”
Also, who give their kids such similar names? Danny, Danna and Dannee?
saisai-chan asked: Just a little thing I noticed. According to genetics, it's more likely for any DxS spawn to have blue eyes then purple. Because Sam's parents, Grandma Manson, Maddie's sister, Danny, Jazz, and Jack all have (varying degrees of) blue eyes. However, it's still possible for a DxS spawn to have purple eyes because both Maddie and Sam have purple eyes. So, while very, very, very unlikely, a purple eyed DxS spawn is still very possible, even though a blue eyed spawn is far more plausible.
I think the problem is that most people think that if they give the character black hair and blue eyes, that people will think it’s a Danny clone.
But there are plenty of people with blue eyes and black hair that don’t look like each other. You know, counting out face shape and everything. It’s still possible to make an original looking Danny clone and use the right genetics.
shionsnezumi asked: I love this blog so much. Like, I want to touch your guys faces.
Oh thank you! And it’s okay we don’t mind.
